What to do with: Green Tea

Hey everyone! (Sorry I haven't posted in while) I'm sure most, if not all, of you have heard about how great green tea is. I am actually new to the Green Tea Club; I was introduced to it by my Gramma this summer. I'll admit: I wasn't originally a huge fan of the taste, but now I ABSOLUTELY love it!! I drink it everyday, sometimes twice;) At first, since I was getting into the routine of school and I didn't have a previously set ritual of drinking coffee/tea in the morning, it was tricky making it and drinking it before I had to get on the bus; sometimes I had to take it to go(its quite embarrassing trying to juggle two bags, three books, a binder, and a hot, full, non-travel mug of tea). So now I have several ways I use my GREEN TEA: Brew it in the morning. I love drinking my hot tea in the morning with breakfast, but when I run in the morning, I have to shower, not leaving me any time to have a glorious breakfast and tea. This is great for slower mornings, such...

Steps to Clear Skin

Healthy Skin: who doesn't want it? One definition of healthy skin is clear skin, meaning no pimples(not like see-through skin, that would be creepy.). There are certain steps required if you want clear skin: Wash your face. Everyday. Twice a day. No joke. Wash it in the morning(it also helps to wake you up), Wash it at night(I use Daily Facial Cleanser by Cetaphil or Oil-Free acne wash by Neutrogena) . Even if you wore no makeup that day. Wash. Your. Face. You need to wash all that oil, grease, and junk off from the day. You don't want to go to sleep with that on your face. I promise. And never ever never go to bed with makeup on. I mean NEVER! Apply a Toner. Especially if you are trying to get rid of acne. You can buy one from the store. But I wanted to go all natural; its just better for you. And less expensive. I made a DIY toner with just a spray bottle, water, and apple cider vinegar. Mix equal parts of water and ACV in a spray bottle. I just spray it on my face, or i...

The Secret to Always Looking Fabulous!

Image
The best way to upgrade any outfit in my opinion is to accessorize! And layer your clothes. Even just adding one bracelet or necklace, and a vest or jacket: BOOM! You look instantly more put together, as if you tried(and let's just face it: sometimes we don't really try:)). I came across this article here  about "The Third Piece". That's right. You don't need lots of jewelry, a purse, and jacket to look "put together". You don't want to look awkward, or even worse, desperate; you don't want to look like you tried really hard. All you need is that third piece, whether it be a statement necklace, vest, scarf, or belt. It really does make the outfit pop! For example: Just a simple striped top and jeans(plus whatever shoes you want. If I was leaving the house, I would slip on sandals. Its easy, and perfect for August weather ;)). So I added a chambray shirt tied around my waist(its more chic than just wearing it normally:)) and some accessor...

Tip of the Day: Accessorizing with Jewelry

My trick for not overdoing jewelry is this: Pick up to 3. In general, I only wear up to 3 groups of jewelry(out of 4: earrings, necklaces, bracelets/watches, and rings). So I almost always wear bracelets(they're my favorite!) and watches. They are in the same category, and I like to stack 3-4 coordinating bracelets. It grabs more attention than a single bangle. I have a bright pink watch that I love, so I wear that almost everyday. I also have a necklace that I got as an early birthday present that I wear a lot because it is dainty, simple, and goes with everything! So I choose between earrings or rings, or just leave it at bracelets and a necklace. I recently received 2 new rings, so I have been wearing those lately. The only time I wear the 4 groups of jewelry is if 1 or more pieces is simple or subtle. So if my hair is down, I might add a little bling with some stud earrings. I am not a big fan of dangling earrings for casual wear, but that is just me ;) So there you have your ...

Choco-peanut Butter Protein Shake

Image
I know, I know, chocolate and protein in the same sentence might seem like an oxymoron, but recent studies have shown that appropriate portions of dark chocolate is actually good for you! Recently, I have been craving chocolate, ice-cream, cookies, all the sort(but then again, who doesn't every once in a while???). I was determined to find a healthier alternative to a blizzard at Dairy Queen. Of course, it isn't wrong to indulge every once in a while, but I still wanted this to be healthy. So I was researching on Pinterest(follow me here !), and found a couple recipes, some including ingredients I do not have at the house (like Xanthan Gum????) , so I made up my own recipe. This is the order in which I add to the blender. First I start with Milk                  (any kind works, dairy or non dairy. For health issues/concerns on dairy, read about it here Yogurt               (I used vanilla, but you c...

7 Ways to Elevate Your Walks

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be posting this!! So its summer and I've had a lot of down time. I really wanted to start posting on my blog s'more. So here it is: 7 Ways to Elevate Your Walks:        So I was walking the other day with my family, and I was thinking of ways to make this simple exercise more challenging: 1.) Bring the Weights!        When my mom walks she usually brings weights, so I tried it out, and man! It is a really great way to tone those arms! I recommend starting with 1 or 2 lbs, (for beginners) and then working your way up. If you don't own any dumbbells, I suggest investing in some. But don't just hold the weights, move 'em! I recommend overhead presses, 90 degree arm raises, bicep curls, etc. You can even make up some moves of your own! 2.) Walk Faster!        One way to elevate your walks is simple: just walk faster! Otherwise known as "power walking", increasing ...
