Doggie Emails

So I sign up on several websites to get emails from them. I thought I would make a list of all the dog related emails I get: PetSmart Charities- nonprofit animal welfare organization that saves the lives of homeless pets across North America; also help stop animal overpopulation.  http://www.petsmartcharities.org Dogs Naturally-magazine that gives you all kinds of interesting information about dogs. Lots of teaching, training, and diet information.  http://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com Your local animal shelter- you might be able to sign up on the emailing list of your local animal shelter, especially if you volunteer there. Petco- pet stores across America; they offer dog: grooming, apparel, food, toys/treats, magazines, etc. Cats: food, litter, food, toys/treats, magazines. Also supplies for reptiles, rodents(and family), and birds(the link will take you to the email sign-up).  https://secure.petco.com/petco_Page_PC_newslettersignup.aspx Bel-Rea- This is actuall...

Pomeranian

Image
Pomeranians(or Poms, Pom-Poms. Pommies) are teeny tiny dogs(only 3-7 lbs!!!) that are labeled as "yappy dogs". Which is true; they have a very high energy level. Poms can have medium-long length hair, which can be a variety of colors including red, orange, cream and sable, black, brown and blue, brindle, white, or parti-color! The most popular color is red/orange. But along with that beautiful coat comes moderate shedding, regular brushing, and trimming(their coat) is optional. You can have it professionally done, or there are YouTube videos on how to trim your own dogs fur; it's pretty easy! Poms are very tiny, so they need to have gentle handling, so best for older kids and supervision for children 7 and under; they excel in obedience and therapy(with the right training, of course!). Beware: these dogs ARE happy, and don't do outdoors and small kids. Choosing a Dog for Dummies by Chris Walkowicz

Boston Terrier: Cute But Tough

Boston Terriers are, like, SO cute(again, who have to be a person who likes wrinkles and smushed faces; on dogs of course!)!!!! Bosties(my personal nickname) are small dogs, not teeny(cause, ya know, they're tough), but a good lap dog size(if they sit on your lap...) and a muscular build. A healthy Bostie weight is from 15-25 lbs, if they weigh 30+, then "lay off the kibble, man!". Most people know Boston Terriers as black and white dogs, although they can be brindle and white or seal and white. The most common is probably black and white(one way to tell Boston Terriers apart from French Bulldogs is this:(usually) bosties are black and white, frenchies are tan/blonde/creme and white). Bosties have a moderate to high energy level; mellows with age. Their shedding and grooming is minimal; brush weekly and bathe monthly. These cute fellows do best with(for training) positive reinforcement and TONS of attention!!! They are great with kids, and excel in agility and obedience ...

Chinese Shar-Pei

Chinese Shar-Peis are quite interesting dogs. They are medium size, about 40-65 lbs. They have tons of wrinkles, so you gotta be the kinda person who loves dogs with pushed in faces and wrinkles(pugs, shar-peis, boxers, french bulldog, etc.). Shar-Peis are solid colors, usually tannish. sometimes even a little pink! They have a pretty low energy level; when they're younger they will probably have a more moderate energy level. Good for elderly people or a laid back person(totally NOT saying that laid back people are like old people, and I'm not comparing them to elderly people!! I'm not offending any person's personality or age, 'cuz someday I will be elderly to!!). Brush their short coat regularly(and who knows how often regularly is!! it could be everyday or every week!). I am guessing that brushing them weekly is good.   They do shed.  **IMPORTANT FACT: MAKE SURE TO CLEAN THEIR EARS ONCE A WEEK** It's just good to do that regularly, too. Chinese Shar-Peis nee...

Happy 2014!!! Or 2013s!!!!

So, Happy New Year to all of you!!!!! Whether you call it 2014 or 2013s(according to Apple), I wish you a super duper Happy New Year!!!! It's the time of the year where you make a New Year Resolution. Maybe it's a long term goal(like running a half-marathon at the end of the year) or maybe it's shorter, like walking your dog everyday(hint hint). My goal this year is to be a more Christ like person. I want everybody to look at me and think that I am a Jesus freak! My friend has this really cool shirt(I want it SO much!). On the front it says "I could be caught dead wearing this" and all of this information on the back! It is really cool. So what's your New Years Resolution?
