Steps to Clear Skin

Healthy Skin: who doesn't want it? One definition of healthy skin is clear skin, meaning no pimples(not like see-through skin, that would be creepy.). There are certain steps required if you want clear skin:

  1. Wash your face. Everyday. Twice a day. No joke. Wash it in the morning(it also helps to wake you up), Wash it at night(I use Daily Facial Cleanser by Cetaphil or Oil-Free acne wash by Neutrogena) . Even if you wore no makeup that day. Wash. Your. Face. You need to wash all that oil, grease, and junk off from the day. You don't want to go to sleep with that on your face. I promise. And never ever never go to bed with makeup on. I mean NEVER!
  2. Apply a Toner. Especially if you are trying to get rid of acne. You can buy one from the store. But I wanted to go all natural; its just better for you. And less expensive. I made a DIY toner with just a spray bottle, water, and apple cider vinegar. Mix equal parts of water and ACV in a spray bottle. I just spray it on my face, or into my palm and apply it. ACV is one of the best acne-fighters. Also if you have bacne(back-acne), I recommend using this mix for you back/chest/butt acne. I apply toner 2/day if I have acne, but if you're just preventing acne, I recommend only using 1/day.
  3. Face Masks. Again, I prefer do use a DIY, natural face mask, but you can definitely buy these in store. For a lot of money. So please: make your own! I cannot stress this enough, but it is soooo much cheaper and sooo much better for you! You can find a myriad of DIY face masks on Pinterest(my dad calls anything I make myself a "potion"). I use an egg white mask for tighter skin, and to shrink my pores. I use honey for acne and acne scars. I also use baking soda and water(mix into a paste) for acne, scars, pores, exfoliation, etc. It really is great for those "invisible" pimples(invisible meaning pimples you cannot see but they are definitely there. Apply this paste all over face and let dry everyday or every other day. You will see results within a week or two.)
  4. Moisturize. This is very important. After you wash your face, and apply a toner, MOISTURIZE! Ladies, if you want to have fresh, soft, even flawless, skin, you need to moisturize! It doesn't matter if you have oily skin. Actually, it does. It means you are not moisturizing enough so your body goes into shock mode and produces a bunch of oil. I know, because my face used to be oily in my "T" zone(forehead, nose, and chin). But I had dry cheeks. So if you have dry skin, obviously you need moisturizers. And combination skin(usually and oily "T" and dry skin around eyes, cheeks, neck/ears.). I use coconut oil as a face lotion. Coconut oil is so good for your body, inside and out! It has anti-bacterial properties, so it fights acne, while giving you a healthy glow. It reduces, or completely removes: Stretch marks, cellulite, and scars, just to name a few.
  5. Healthy eating. It matters what you put in your body. Processed sugars, non-complex carbs, and high quantities of sodium can cause not only an obvious weight-gain, but slow your metabolism, less energy, and cause your face to break out. Drinking lots of water will also help clear your skin.
Following these steps has extremely helped my face. I used to have uneven, discolored, bumpy, dry, oily, gross, acne-covered skin. But washing my face, using ACV and Coconut oil have made my face something I'm proud of. I take good care of my skin, and it shows.
