New Year, New Goals

Happy New Year!! (observed) 😉 Going into a new year, I always like to "year plan", as I call it- writing out my goals for the year, such as big ambitions as well as daily accomplishments. First I started out by writing out the "hard things" I wanted to incorporate/ do this year (more about "hard things" in another post).

I then proceeded to write down what I wanted to focus on each month. January I really want to focus on my studies (two weeks till mid terms...) and get back into running. Also it was high time for me to get my license, as of right now I have just over one hour left of driving time, and thennnn finally I can get my license!! 😃

I also took a "spiritual growth assessment"- it shows you where you need to grow in your walk with Christ. I made a list afterwards of three ways I wanted to grow in each area (six areas total).

Above are the ways I want to grow in Prayer, Bible (God's Word), Evangelism, Relationships, Serving, and Lifestyle (excuse my handwriting, I was going fast and didn't know it'd be on the internet!!😂😳)

To get a big picture of all the BIG things I wanted to accomplish, I was getting rather overwhelmed at this point, I wrote down the BIG goals. These included things I wanted to do this summer, as well as over the course of the year.

My 2017 Ambitions include:
  • Blog/ Youtube Channel (become successful at this blog, and/or start a Youtube Channel)
  • Job/ Internship (this summer, to make money/ gain experience)
  • Volunteer (since I'm interested in physical therapy, I wanted to get involved in a similar field)
  • Run a marathon (this is a big goal, I ran a half marathon last summer)
Finally I wrote the objectives of this month (I plan to do this every month). Instead of writing the year out in advance, I want to go along as the year goes. This way my plans can be flexible and there is less stress.

Being a young female, I do not run alone, which yes is very frustrating at times. So I think we are buying a treadmill to put in the garage!! Yes of course I prefer the wide open outdoors, but I'm not above training on a treadmill. Especially if I can run how long I want, when I want, by myself 😃 I am not watching T.V. except for on weekends, or when I am with my boyfriend. There are so so many other relaxing, productive activities I can do beside stare at a large screen for entertainment. I find that most of the time I'm not even interested in watching a specific show, I just want to relax. This way I can challenge myself to find something else to do😉

And that's about all! The important part is not only MAKING goals, but DOING them- taking steps everyday/ regularly to accomplishing your goal.

Have fun making and CRUSHING your goals and ambitions this year!!
