Burn Calories, and make the Dog Happy!
People are so obsessed with calories and cholesterol and whatever else adults worry about(health wise). But so many people are obese these days!!!!! It's sooo confusing!!!!! A good way to burn calories(and still have that chocolate cake in the fridge) is to start running or walking or jogging regularly. Even better, take your dog with you!! They will be happy, you'll be happy, and you'll both lose weight! If you are to busy to run or go to the gym, you can either rearrange your schedule, or, to lose weight, don't eat a lot of junk. Agreat way to do that is to cut out the sugar and carbs. If you want something unhealthy, just say no; studies say that a craving for food will go away in 20 minutes or less. But that's going to make you healthy, but not your dog, so there still is a problem. For your dog, cut down on snackies in between meals. Another thing you can try is swapping out 1/3 of your dog's food for canned pumpkin(do not get the canned pumkin pie stuff, that's very sugary, and therefore it will defeat the whole purpose). I learned this trick from a book Marc Morrone wrote called "Ask the Dog Keeper". (It is a really good book if you are interested in your dog's health, food, training, etc.) But always try to exercise your dog regularly. Or if you absolutely don't have anytime, (1) YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A DOG IN THE FIRST PLACE IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTIME TO PROPERLY TAKE CARE OF YOUR DOG! (2) Check out kennels; if you can find a good one(always ask for a tour of the place, sometimes the kennels stink and dogs have fleas, and overall is very disgusting) please email me the address of it @ hannah@oregontailblazers.com . Dogs should be getting a lot of exercise from dog kennels. They run around and play and interact with other dogs all day long. Daisy is always thin when we come back from a trip/vacation.
P.S. I will make a list of great dog kennels nationally, and if possible, global.
A great website I found is rover.com
