All About Guide Dogs!!
Guide dogs help blind or visually handicapped people by "guiding" them around obstacles(like keeping them safe while crossing through traffic), being their constant companion, and even helping their handler with everyday things: such as picking up dropped items, bringing items to them(soda, slippers, etc.), and even putting on your socks. Guide dogs help these handicapped people do things they could not do by themselves. Blind people all over the world have adopted these special seeing eye dogs. The first guide dog training camps started during World War I, in Germany, to assist injured veterans. The most common breeds of seeing eye dogs include, but are not limited to: German Shepherds, Labs, Golden Retrievers, and Labradoodles(Lab and Poodle)(for blind people with allergies).
