TOYS: which ones are safe?

These days, when you go into pet stores, there are sooooooo many different toys!!!!!! Does Fifi need all of them? Which ones are safe for Rover? Would Fido enjoy this one more? That's the question now days. We bring Daisy to my grandparents house every Sunday, and they constantly are buying toys for her: squeaky toys, stuffed toys, rope toys, you get the idea. And she always tears them up, very quickly(with exception of the rope toys)!!! It can be a waste of money. So then, we(as humans) turn to homemade toys or children's toys. But, because they were made for kids(not dogs) the seems can be very loose and the stuffing will come out. Or, if it has button eyes or nose, then Rover could choke on the little pieces. Or Fifi could get stuffing stuck in her mouth. Or, even worse, Fido might even swallow small toys!!!!! Then they could get caught somewhere in the digestion system, and cause expensive vet bills. There goes the "money saver" idea! So, is it better to give Fido dog toys, kid's toys, or toys you made specially? Well, if you get dog toys, make sure to get ones that don't have a lot of stuffing(even though thats what Fifi wants). There are toys that are filled with water bottles(there's an idea for homemade toys!!!!!!), and they make a loud, crunching noise(replacing the need for a squeaker). And avoid toys with buttons(Rover might choke on them). For rope toys, make sure they are strong and thick. But rope toys are pretty safe, in my opinion. Also, certain breeds like different toys. If Fido is a labrador retriever, he would probably enjoy a fetching toy(hence the name "Retriever"). If Fifi is a terrier, she would most likely enjoy a rope toy that she can shake. So just go on the web(don't worry, it won't take that much time out of Angry Bird time!!!), and research your dogs breed*. Or if your pooch is a designer dog(puggle, maltipoo, chorkie, etc.) or a precious mutt, then try experimenting! Try rope toys and fetching toys and squeaky toys! Daisy(puggle) likes tug-a-war toys(aka rope toys), and she also likes to play fetch, but her small body gets tired after awhile. So, choose whatever is best for you and your canine!
